Parish Pastoral Councils in Australia

Parish Pastoral Councils are councils of the whole church, where priests, religious, church workers and laity all come together and give leadership to the parish as it discerns its call to live the mission of the church in these times in this community.

Australian Catholic Bishops Conference

The bishops usually meet twice a year, however, in between meetings the work of the Conference goes on. There are 19 standing committees, some with permanent secretariats. The Conference has a permanent council which deals with matters specifically delegated to it by the plenary meeting, as well as with matters that need to be dealt with before the Conference can meet again.
