Motor Insurance
THE POLICY
Motor insurance covers all types of sedans, station wagons, four-wheel drives, utilities, tractors, trailers, buses and other registered vehicles. All drivers are covered, provided that the driver complies with the policy terms and conditions.
Catholic Church Insurances Limited offers comprehensive motor insurance, however if required this insurance can be endorsed so that third party only or restricted third party cover (fire and theft) can be purchased.
WHO NEEDS THIS COVER?
Corporate catholic clients, including the clergy, religious, schools, colleges, homes for the aged, dioceses, hospitals and welfare organisations. Cover is not available to the general public.
DEDUCTIBLES/EXCESS
There are two types of compulsory excesses under our Motor policy,
- basic excess and
- age excess for drivers under 25 years.
The age excess is in addition to the basic excess.
LIMITS OF LIABILITY
Vehicles are covered for their market value, however if required, the vehicles can be covered for their agreed value.
It is usual for private-type vehicles (sedans, station wagons, coupes etc.) to be insured for their market value, whilst an agreed value is usually applied to Commercial vehicles and buses.
Section 2 of the policy provides $30,000,000 legal liability cover.
STAMP DUTY and FIRE SERVICE LEVIES
Stamp duty is added to premiums with the amount varying from state to state.

- Cost of hiring a substitute vehicle (sedan or station wagon) for 14 days, following a theft.
- New replacement vehicle following a total loss in the first year of original registration.
- Legal liability cover of $30,000,000.
- Automatic inclusion cover for new and/or additional vehicles.
- Excess free windscreen claims.
OPTIONS/EXTENSIONS
- Market value or agreed value.
- Standard excess/variable excess.
- Comprehensive or Third Party only or Third Party Fire and Theft cover.
IMPORTANT POINTS
This insurance does not cover third party claims that are covered under Compulsory Third Party insurance (CTP).
TAKING OUT A POLICY
Catholic Church Insurances Limited will assist in obtaining information necessary for providing a quotation and issuing a policy.
